Bengaluru fest hosting ‘When Pomegranates Howl’

Iranian movie ‘When Pomegranates Howl’ is competing at the 2022 Bengaluru int’l filmfest in India.

Iranian movie ‘When Pomegranates Howl’ has been competing at the 13th edition of the Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) in India.

Directed by Iranian filmmaker Granaz Mousavi, the drama tells the story of a little boy named Hewad, who lives on the streets of Kabul following the loss of his father and brother.

The 9-year-old boy starts working as a cart pusher to support his family. He enjoys doing his job, traveling through the capital city of Afghanistan.

He actually has a dream to become a star of cinema. His dream revives as he meets an Australian photographer.

Arafat Faiz, Elham Ayazi, Saeedeh Sadat, Fereshteh Alami, Madineh Niaz, and Andrew Quilty are some of the cast members of the flick.

Iranian maestro, Hossein Alizadeh, has composed the music score for the movie.

The 13th edition of the BIFFes has different sections, including contemporary world cinema and Asian cinema competition.

According to the official website of the festival, “it will also host various sessions for the academic interactions/discourse on different aspects of Filmmaking & Film Appreciation, through Seminars, Workshops, Masterclasses, etc.”

The current edition of the BIFFes is being held on March 3-10, 2022.
